The FYE Passport app is built for Southwestern College Builders. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app collects, why, and the choices you have.
Last updated June 18, 2026FYE Passport ("the app," "we," "us") is the official First-Year Experience app for Southwestern College. It helps new students collect campus "stamps," find events, and navigate their first year.
We built the app to do its job with as little personal information as possible. We don't sell your data, we don't run advertising, and we don't track you across other apps or websites. This policy covers the data the app needs to work and nothing more.
The app collects a deliberately small set of information, used only to run the passport experience:
You sign in with your Southwestern College student account (single sign-on). This gives us your name and a student identifier so the app knows whose passport is whose. We do not see or store your password — sign-in is handled by the college's secure login.
Which stamps you've earned, badges unlocked, scavenger-hunt clues solved, and your Builder rank. This progress is stored on your device so your passport is there every time you open the app. It may also be synced to your student account so you don't lose it if you change phones.
If you turn on notifications, your device gives the app a notification token so we can send reminders about events and stamps. The token identifies the device, not you personally, and is only used to deliver app notifications.
Some features ask your permission before they run. You're always in control and can decline or change these in your device settings:
We use the information above strictly to operate the app:
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the First-Year Experience program.
Your passport progress is stored on your device. If you're signed in, a copy may be synced to systems operated by or for Southwestern College so your progress follows your student account. Information stays within systems used for the college's First-Year Experience program and is kept only as long as needed for that program.
Push notifications are optional. When you allow them, we use your device's notification token to send things like event reminders and badge unlocks. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings, and we'll stop sending them. Turning them off does not affect the rest of the app.
We try to do less, not more, with your data.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including using the college's secure single sign-on for login and limiting access to the data the app stores. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep the small amount of data the app handles safe.
If we update this policy, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we'll let you know in the app. Continuing to use FYE Passport after an update means you accept the revised policy.
